When you think of a log home, you probably picture a small rustic looking cabin in the woods, surrounded by trees and mountain views.

But not all log cabins are humble and simplistic.

Across the world, celebrities are choosing log homes for their holiday getaways or even main residence (like Bill Gates’ high tech log mansion).

The log homes below are home to some of the biggest names around including Oprah Winfrey and the Queen of England, as well as log cabins that were used in famous film sets, and childhood homes of the rich and famous.

Some of the cabins are no longer owned by the stars, but I’m sure will remain well known for years to come.
